The King's Man Movie Review

 If you love cinematography, beautifully choreographed, high-energy fight scenes, action, and humor, then The King’s Man is the movie to see.

 As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in “The King’s Man.” “The King’s Man” is directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, with Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance. Matthew Vaughn, David Reid and Adam Bohling are the producers, and Mark Millar, Dave Gibbons, Stephen Marks, Claudia Vaughn and Ralph Fiennes serve as executive producers. “The King’s Man” is based on the comic book “The Secret Service” by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, and the story is by Matthew Vaughn and the screenplay is by Matthew Vaughn & Karl Gajdusek. 

 I was initially hesitant because I like Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and I was afraid I may not enjoy this film as much because I did not see him in the trailers. I know it’s ridiculous to put all of that weight on one actor when there is an entire ensemble of great actors, but hey… I’m here to speak my truth.

My truth is this film did not disappoint. Even during parts where they had to discuss the past so everything would make sense, the story continued to be visually interesting.

There were moments in the theater where I, along with others watching, audibly reacted to what was happening. Some parts were completely unexpected. I mean, I watch a lot of films, and what happened made complete sense, but there was no foreshadowing, so it took me by surprise.

I still have chills and a stupid grin as I type this. I just truly enjoyed the film. I am going to reserve it on VUDU as soon as it’s available. I would watch it again, today if I could.
